Arthur Daley sees the light
"My motto has always been: Do unto others as they would do unto you...if they had half a chance."

Arthur is selling hot tubs, lava lamps, exercise bicycles and VCRs but he's having trouble putting his hands on adedquate supplies to meet his delivery schedules.

He needs to close all these deals because he owes a bundle to a particularly nasty villain.

He also sells a dodgy motor to a nun, so Ray and Dave get worried Arthur is tempting fate. And sure enough things start to go wrong.

The writers fashion a funny set piece for George Cole in a church confessional. Dave puts his mechanical skills to work. And Ray Daley uses his brains rather than his brawn to help his Uncle Arthur. He also meets a cute nun who knows her way under the hood of a car.

If the show had originally been created to feature the Arthur Daley character rather than the Minder character, this could have been a pilot episode that the producers could take to the networks. It encapsulates Arthur's character perfectly.
