Years prior to DESCONTROL, there was a different Spanish TV bikini dancing show which I enjoyed very much. I think it was the Spanish word for hot Caliente or something. Many pop songs by Spanish singers like Christian Castro and others. It was wonderful.
These days, the only Spanish bikini dancing on TV is DESCONTROL. What is the deal here? This show has the most AMAZING ultra sexy girls dancing in teeny weenie bikinis. Visually, the most exciting 60 minutes on TV each week. OK, fine, perfect.
But included with the bikini dancing is a hefty amount of boring grandpa music. Many songs sound as if they come from 1949 squeeze-box recordings.
I am not being a US music snob. There is great modern music coming from other countries. Even go back 10 years in Korea y--tube DJ DOC "Run to You", Baby VOX and others, or 10 years ago in India and take a listen to Oh My Darling from Mujhse Dosti Karoge, or some of the girl groups from Japan 10 years ago like Zone, Speed, or the soundtrack from THE LONG VACATION or even the theme music used in old Animes. For decades, the world has been filled to the brim with amazing modern music.
Sometimes there is nice modern music played during DESCONTROL such as Shakira and Pit Bull, but only half of the time at most.
During the first years of DESCONTROL there was also assorted sound effects interrupting each song as an accent to camera cuts. Happily more recently the sound effects are gone.
The bikini dancing takes place mostly at either the beach, a water park, or at a country ranch. In the past, during poor weather, bikini dancing would take place inside a giant aircraft hanger. But during the past year the show has switched to shooting inside a TV studio during bad weather. But weirdly, the lighting was much more flattering inside the aircraft hanger.
Dear producers, please use modern catchy music, and hey, not only will I watch your show every week, I will turn up the sound and listen to it too.
