Use Your Eyes, Morons

This was awesome in every way. People complaining about the content clearly didn't read the description of the movie. It said exactly what the content was. The best of R40 mixed with behind the scenes stuff.

Being a RUSH fan since '79 I was a easy sell but trying to be objective one cannot watch this film and not be impressed with the level of professionalism and musicianship " the boys " bring. I would have like to see more candid from the venues footage but clearly it was a great way to spend a Wednesday night.

only real bummer was the excessive amount of commercials prior to the show actually starting. I mean it was like 30 minutes too much

Loved the hell out of this

This particular Fathom Event was a no-brainer, particularly for those few of us that missed the band's last tour. Thankfully, "Cinema Strangiato" is the next best thing. The film came exactly as advertised: concert film with backstage footage mixed-in. The surprise here being a smattering of talking heads singing Rush's praises as personal influences. It's a nice touch, even if the sound levels weren't even.

As for the concert itself, it's pure gold. The camerawork was excellent, and the sound was cranked to eleven. I was genuinely surprised (ecstatic) to see them perform "Losing It", and that remains a highlight for me.

On a purely experiential basis, this deserves high marks. But I will say that most of the theater was abuzz regarding the "See you next year!" postscript. I wasn't expecting an annual thing from this, but count me in.

Great concert footage of a legendary prog&rock band

But very oddly cut and variable sound. Concerts great sounding, though. 10 for music, 6 for dramaturgy.

Excellent concert footage

Being an avid Rush fan since the early 80's I absolutely loved this movie. It was exactly what I was expecting after readying the information. My only complaint was the huge amount of commercials before the actual movie started. The end of the movie really left me wondering what they meant. Here is hoping to something special in 2020!

Liked so very much!

This was 2-1/2 hrs well spent. Production quality is par-none. They did a great job of building the "greatest hits" up to the end.

I could have done without the gratuitous animations, but I do think we can allow those men to express themselves.

Nicest thing is that they verbally and in the written credits THANKED US, the "greatest fan base in the world."

Concert film!

Warning: Spoilers
Let me start by saying I'm a huge Rush fan. 8 stars is for the band in general. That being said, this flick wasn't what I expected. I was hoping for something more along the lines of Time Stand Still, but what I got was a recap of the R40 show. The Morello and Corgan interviews were interesting, and the Taylor Hawkins comparison was hilarious, but if you wanna save a few bucks, pop in the R40 dvd and make microwave popcorn at home.

The CS worldwide updated release (2021)

Warning: Spoilers
Saw this last night for the "Cinema Strangiato Director's Cut One Night Only Worldwide Rerelease" and loved it. Not sure how it differs from the 2019 release as I did not see it. Photography was amazing...best I have seen in a concert vid...felt like you were sitting in Neil's kit. Their song selections were epic starting with the latest, "Clockwork Angels", and ending on the earliest "Working Man". Cool how the stage setup shrank as they went back in time. Only downside was the sound mix...I was in a Cinepolis so imagine they have the sound system dialed but the mix seemed to be 2.0 (Left and Right) with way too much forward mid range, drums were almost inaudible on certain songs, no 100 Hz and below bass, and only use of surrounds was crowd enhancements. I assumed there would be a top notch surround mix but def was not the case.

Concert Footage Spectacular - The Rest Not So Much
neilread22 August 2019
The concert footage was incredible. Great sound as well. The rest was filler and okay but not necessary. The part about the making of Getty's BBBoB was neat.
