Possibly the funniest episode to anything I've seen!

Psych is great for a laugh, and "American Duos" is my all time favourite episode. Full of hilarious lines, like "I feel as though I have been incarcerated in a blueberry" or something like that. James Roday and Dule Hill were great, in this episode, especially during the audition scene, where I was howling with uncontrollable laughter. I haven't ever heard such bad singing, so bad it was great. Gina Gerschon and Christian De la Fuente were also solid as Emilina and Zapato. But topping them all, in a priceless performance as Nigel St. Nigel, was the always wonderful Tim Curry. He had the funniest lines of the whole episode, and his delivery of them was flawless. I wish I could list some of his best lines, but I can't remember them completely, I assure you that's from laughing so much, but I loved the scene with the robe. Anyway, watch this, because you're likely to die laughing. 10/10. Bethany Cox

Priceless

This is one of my most favorite episodes.

Shawn and Gus go "undercover" in American Duos, a takeoff of a talent show.

Tim Curry (like Simon), as Nigel St. Nigel, is the egotistical judge. All his comments were intelligent and hysterical. Comments about The Blueberry, discussions with Henry, going commando in Henry's robe (never to be done by a man in another man's robe, women are not restricted to these rules :-), and it is best for women not to wear anything at all. Interactions between Nigel and Juliet were hysterical, with everyone. Even interaction with McNab was priceless. The writers, Tim Curry, and all the actors did a fantastic job.

Highly recommended.

Easily of the top episodes of Psych

On the whole I really Psych as a series, and this episode which is the first of episode 2 is definitely in the top 5 episodes for me.

Its all about Tim Curry, who plays a sort of evil version of Simon Cowell, on a Britains got talent type show.

It is one of the funniest episodes for sure, the comedy also comes strong from Gina Gershons character.

If you watch it more than once you will probably start to disect it too much and realise how convenient it is that they come across a certain important character, without that chance meeting surely they could never of solved the case.

Ecxellent episode 9 out of 10.

Unimpressive

Warning: Spoilers
I have recently become hooked to this show and am going through the seasons episode by episode and this one is definitely the worst by far. The wannabe American Idol spin off in the episode is a lame attempt at a laugh at best. The whole production just tried way too hard to make this episode worthy of bearing the Psych name. The judges, especially Tim Curry's character, Nigel St. Nigel, weren't any good and it was extremely difficult to watch, on top of the fact that the name is almost as bad as the character itself. Surely the writers could have been at least slightly more creative, isn't that what they're getting paid for? The entire episode is filled with his awful puns and attempted jokes that forced me to wince at the ridiculousness rather than actually laugh. All I can say is I sincerely hope it gets better because many more episodes like this and the show will be losing quite a few fans.
