Worship the Mighty Ben Franklin! Praise Be To the Holy Ben Franklin!

Warning: Spoilers
Just saw this episode last week, and to me, this one summed up pretty much everything cockeyed about this show.

Now nothing wrong with history, but the 250-yr-old Monday morning quarterbacking on their soapbox that James, Henri and Sarah had done all laughably came to a head here.

Henri is fighting with a kid who berated Ben Franklin. They break up the fight and haul both the kids into the printing shop. They actually do start up with the kid is entitled to his opinion, but then Moses, the freed slave, quips 'regardless how wrong he is' or somethng like that.

From there, the kid is ambushed. "Why do you dislike Ben Franklin so much?" Now if fundamentalist church people took in a heckler of their church and did this to him, look out for brainwashing and cult accusations! Then the kid's father enters. It is more "Ben Franklin did this. Ben Franklin accomplished that." for this father and son.

I was laughing.

Then the father makes a sneer at Moses for being a freed slave. Moses BOLDLY stands up for his right to freedom and the man's opinion to disagree.

How convenient then that this man's son and Henri then wandered back outside to play in the street and a runaway horse just happened to be coming by for Moses to leap in front of and save the kids! WEll, fiddle-dee-dee! But it was truly laughable that Moses, Sarah and James seemed to be taking turns going at the father.

"Ever been to the library?" "Ever been to the hospital?" The father shot that down. He and his son are healthy. Well, if you HAD been unhealthy, Ben Franklin started the hospital there! Strange they didn't mention he started the fire engine, or daylights savings time (learned the fire engine from the Bewitched episode with ben Franklin) or that he wanted to eat eagles for Thanksgiving dinner.

Oh, that would have made Lord FRanklin look foolish, wouldn't it?
