If slow to start with, and some of the secondary characters are underwritten it is a brave episode, dealing with injury at work and what have you. That said though, visually I can't fault the episode, the drama is constantly very well made and this episode is no exception, the writing is decent if not entirely exceptional and the music as always is superb.
The acting help to move the somewhat harrowing story along, with John Thaw, Oliver Ford Davies and Nicolas Jones all doing great work, while Kevin McKidd is very convincing as David Lomax and Frances Tomelty gives a moving performance as his mother. Overall, not the best, but worth watching. 8/10 Bethany Cox
