Miss Farnaby is full of mystery and contentment, as she announces that a man she met at The Library, Mr Smith is coming to dinner, Mulberry is shocked and horrified when he discovers the true identity of Mr Smith.
After a run of fun and cheerful episodes, it's back down to Earth with a bang in this episode, that whimsical and cheerful tone is totally gone, this one was very serious, dark, bleak almost.
A protective Mulberry is desperately trying to keep his beloved employee safe, if she only knew the good he was trying to do, and the true purpose of her visiting guest.
Not actually that much to laugh at here, the scenes of Miss Farnaby trying to drive were amusing, and Mulberry's mania, well I'm not sure if it was funny or tragic.
Revealing on many levels, we learn that Burt and Alice were evacuees, and that kind of makes sense.
9/10.
