DI Johnson leads an investigation into a bizarre case, a house fire where a sawn-off shotgun is found, and a prostitute who's in hospital suffering with severe facial burns.
This is a return to the style of episode we were seeing early on in this series. It's not light in any way, it's a pretty bleak, heavy story.
Drugs focused, pretty seedy, all the nasty things happening, CID trying hard to take down the criminals. They really are focusing on drugs related stories at this point.
Surely this can't be the end of this stoey, there has to be some fallout with what happened to both Claudia, and the struggle between Johnson and Ruddick.
Griffiths as always is terrific, you imagine Johnson is in trouble for this.
