A nifty little making of documentary

This short'n'snappy behind-the-scenes featurette offers a fun glimpse at the making of the enjoyable low-budget fantasy adventure romp "King of the Lost World." The folks interviewed for this doc are amiable director/co-writer Leigh Scott, stunt coordinator Daniel Arrias, hearty and personable Bruce Boxleitner, charming Rhett Giles, funny Jeff Denton (he does a spot-on impersonation of Jimmy Stewart at the end of the doc), lovely Sarah Lieving, and the equally fetching Christina Rosenberg. Scott eagerly talks about the movie's wild and eventful thrill-a-minute plot and notes that he put a greater emphasis on building tension over showcasing special effects. Boxleitner happily discusses his role as the gruff and mysterious Lt. Challenger and the daunting challenge of acting to nothing (all of the monsters were later added in post-production). Moreover, we find out that Boxleitner did all of his own stunts and see him rehearse his martial arts fight scene with a feisty native girl. The DVD also has another documentary on the CGI effects, an amusing blooper reel, and the trailer for the picture.
