Stars: Wesley Snipes, Seth Rollins, Anne Heche, Dave Annable, Kyle Clements, Morgan Roberts, Eyas Younis, Mo Gallini, Mike Seal | Written by Matt Savelloni | Directed by John Stockwell
Another month, another Wesley Snipes film. He sure is on the comeback trail now right? Ok, maybe not, especially given that this, like Final Recall, has headed direct to DVD. To be fair though, the “another month, another…” could also apply to WWE studios, who seem to have gone back to churning out direct to market films much like when they first stepped into the world of film production. Following the usual standard of having one of the many WWE Superstars take a break from the wrestling ring and appear on-screen, Armed Response features the “Kingslayer” himself, Seth Rollins, in a supporting role – yes, a supporting role. Unlike ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, Dolph Ziggler, John Cena, Randy Orton, The Miz, and hell, even...

It’s hard to decide whether this week’s SmackDown was a big or small show. Any time Triple H opens WWE’s “B show”, it can probably be regarded as a special occasion. On the other hand, various top stars were missing, including Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Brock Lesnar – all of whom have frequented the blue brand in recent weeks.
To make matters worse, almost every match on the show (save for the opening bout and main event) seemed to last a mere minute or two, dominated by shenanigans and interferences rather than a focus on the actual in-ring action.
That’s not to suggest SmackDown was without positives. Although Triple H bored us all throughout the 2000s with a seemingly-unending string of long “I’m the best” promos, his segment at the top of the broadcast was actually rather refreshing – and expertly delivered, to boot.

Go-home editions of SmackDown are often uninspiring affairs these days, in which it seems the WWE booking team are simply wasting time until the pay per view rolls around. Storylines rarely progress, and messy non-finishes are incredibly common. At least, that’s usually what tends to happen. This week’s show, however, was frustrating for the opposite reason.
We saw a boatload of clean finishes this week, incredibly decisive results which made several competitors at Sunday’s TLC PPV look very weak. Not a single heel won, cleanly or via shenanigans – an and even the Intercontinental Championship contract signing saw Dean Ambrose come out on top in a brawl with Kevin Owens.
Perhaps WWE are softening the blow before a pay per view of heel wins, or maybe they’re simply too scared to portray any of their babyfaces as fallible days before a big show. Whatever the reason,...

Whatever you think of the current state of WWE, there are a few things that seem to make repeat appearances amongst most common criticisms of the product: there are a lot of brilliant athletes not being used to their full potential, the storylines aren’t quite as captivating as they could be, and there’s an unpredictability about the weekly shows sorely lacking compared to years gone by.
It’s for those reasons and more that we put it to you that it’s time to officially re-instate the WWE Hardcore Championship. “But it’s a PG era!” we hear you cry. We’ll get to that, and any other questions you may have, in this handy, ten-point guide to why bringing back the funnest WWE title in history is a guaranteed ratings-smasher.
Let’s do this…
10. It’d Give Some Underused Talent Some Extra Screen Time WWE.

"Go-home show" had more than one meaning in Minneapolis. Not only was it the final Monday night before SummerSlam (in case that failed to register amid Triple H and Stephanie's lengthy opening address), it was also Brock Lesnar's chance to bask in the adulation of his adopted home state. Side effect: The Undertaker got pooped all over, as did the Divas and anyone else in the final few segments who wasn't Brock Lesnar.
But hey, let's not dwell on the more controversial aspects of a fine show.

Sting is in incredible shape ahead of his WWE SummerSlam return, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. People who have recently seen the WCW Icon noted how great his conditioning looked.
Despite being 56 years old, Sting’s in-ring work looked good in his first WWE match at WrestleMania 31. He clearly lives clean and regularly puts time in at the gym. That sort of conditioning has helped him to stay physically younger than most men his age look.
He’ll have maintained his training to a high standard, as the Wrestling Observer says his SummerSlam booking has been planned for months.
The angle as of two weeks ago was for Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper to get a new member of the Wyatt family. Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose would then get Sting, setting up a three on three match for the August 23rd show.
The other option would be just Bray and Harper,...

WWE Smackdown was filmed on Tuesday in Detroit, Michigan. The show started with Daniel Bryan announcing that he’ll be in the Intercontinental Title Ladder Match at WrestleMania. This brought out all the Ladder participants, and they all brawled, apart from R Truth who stood on the stage with the belt.
Whatever you think of Bryan’s booking, he can at least excel in what should be a showstealing match at WrestleMania.
Los Matadores, Tyson Kidd and Cesaro defeated The Usos, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.
Ryback knocked off The Miz in a quick match. There was no Mizdow, as Miz had told him to stay in the back. There were loud “We want Mizdow” chants.
Roman Reigns was out for a promo when Mark Henry returned. The big man talked about how Reigns needed to earn respect. This resulted in Roman laying Henry out with a superman punch and spear.

There were a lot of quick finishes and long soliloquies last night, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. There was also a legends panel and a Raw reunion, not all of which was necessarily great. But all anyone will remember is Sting staring down Triple H and Brock Lesnar launching Big Show like he was a duffel bag stuffed with down.
So without either of my feet touching the floor, here are the five things I took away (in addition to some sidebar observations) from the January 19, pre-Royal Rumble edition of Raw.

WWE has done a great job of promoting Nxt this year. No longer the best kept secret in wrestling, Nxt is now one of the shows to watch thanks to the WWE hype machine.
But WWE has been smart enough to make sure that Nxt remains its own brand and retains its own identity. WWE wants Nxt to be its own thing and Triple H has worked hard to make sure that Nxt (a project of his) succeeds.
Nxt is where you can see tomorrow’s WWE superstars today. Some of the most popular members of the WWE roster have come from Nxt. Look no further than Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns for examples of talent who came from Nxt.
Two of Nxt’s top current stars are Nxt champion Adrian Neville and the eminently likeable Sami Zayn. Triple H recently compared Zayn to Ricky Steamboat...

WWE are determined to stick with a rigid plan for WrestleMania 31’s main event, according to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The plan is for John Cena to be defeated by Brock Lesnar in the WWE Title Match at the Royal Rumble, and Roman Reigns will then defeat Brock for the title at WrestleMania 31. This will make Reigns the new star of the company and Cena will become the resident legend. Even though Reigns is currently out injured, WWE are still pushing him hard, as witnessed by his video interview on Raw and new nicknames ‘The Juggernaut’ and ‘The Big Dog.’
What won’t be happening is a scenario like the 2014 Mania season. WWE switched plans from Batista to Daniel Bryan, based on how popular the underdog star was becoming. Whatever happens with Dean Ambrose’s growing popularity, we aren’t going to see a situation similar to Bryan.

Raise your hands if, like me, you assumed Randy Orton would cost Seth Rollins his win against Dean Ambrose in the Hell in a Cell main event, putting their feud front and center, while Bray Wyatt would return from retooling on Raw and pick a fight with Ambrose.
Raise the other one if, when Wyatt ran interference during Ambrose and Rollins' disappointing main-event blow-off, you said to yourself, "Much as I love nearly being right, and an enjoy an homage to Princess Leia's Star Wars hologram, what was accomplished here...

Rivalries are the backbone of any sport. They create match-ups and stories fans want to see and will continue to pay for well past the expiration date of a particular pairing. It is the raw emotion, the intense hatred and the quality of the action between the ropes that keeps the audience coming back for more. World Wrestling Entertainment history is dotted with some of the greatest rivalries, feuds and vendettas in the history of the industry. Some were born in the ashes of heartbreaking splits, others the result of a torrid love triangle and still others the product of a good, old-fashioned wrestling angle. Whatever the case may be, they have contributed to the success of Vince McMahon’s company for 50 years.

The WWE main roster is always changing, some wrestlers leave for whatever reason happens to cause their departure, some wrestlers move up the card because management wants to give them a push and some wrestlers move downwards, or stay still, sometimes merely because the creative team has a lack of ideas for their television character.
The last twelve months have been memorable and a lot has happened to the main WWE roster since June of 2013. So, let’s take a look at the main superstars who are on the main stage of WWE, rate them, and look at how their future in WWE looks at this moment.
The grading system is as follows:
A+ – Is/Should be one of the main faces of WWE. A true star.
A – Should be/Is in the main event scene and has the talent to stay there.
B – Should be being pushed as a future top contender.

It’s Top Chef: Texas episode 3, entitled “Quinceanera”, a reference to the famous “coming of age” party for Latin American girls turning fifteen, as we learned from this episode and will treat like a common fact we already knew because we are broad-minded white people. Seriously, some of my best friends are having Quinceaneras! Wait, no they’re not, that’s worse. Ahh whatever, I lose. For the Quickfire, the chefs better get ready to have their cages Rattled and their…something… snaked… fangs! It’s snakes. They’re cooking rattlesnakes. And when they find out “it had to be snakes,” obviously, it instantly reminds us of the famous Indiana Jones quote: The chefs each must prepare a dish using rattlesnakes (which have already been killed and skinned – Boooo) for guest chef Johnny Hernandez of San Antonio, who really knows a lot about snakes: Padma explains, “When this competition is over,...
