A little bit daft...well a lot daft.

Clegg pranks Howard, telling him that he's an orphan, and was left on a doorstep, Billy and Alvin are trying hard to launch a kite.

It's daft, the show often had daft episodes, but this one is daftness to the point of absurdity. The story of the kite is pretty silly, but the one surrounding Howard is a little... implausible. It's interesting to see that Cleggy has a somewhat devilish streak, that's developed over the years.

On the plus side, we are getting to see the ladies interacting more with Auntie, and their afternoon tea is as caustic as ever. I loved the Howard and Marina scene, and you can see genuine warmth between the two, of course Marina was going to save the day.

The one sad thing about this show, is that retirements are going to happen, and sadly this was the end for Roz, with Dora Bryan retiring, I found her funny in her earlier years, but I'm not sure they knew what to do with her as time went on, she looked pretty good.

6/10.

Little Orphan Howard

Little Orphan Howard turns out to be Dora Bryan's last episode as Aunt Roz Utterthwaite, Edie's flighty man eating sister. She left due to ill health and retired from acting the following year.

The episode itself is underwhelming. Clegg plays a prank on Howard and tells him that he is an orphan and Howard believes him. Just too far fetched.

Now Howard is downbeat thinking his real parents left him on a doorstep of someone's house. Until then Howard merrily prancing about pretending to be a cowboy after reading western books.

Alvin wants to fly a kite but needs help. So it's Entwistle and his motor on the ready with Billy desperately giving chase holding the kite.

Much better was Smiler and Tom complaining about express delivering a piano. Smiler stays so slim because he is paid starvation wages. They even provide a nice visual gag for the two policemen. It reminded me of the Marx Bothers.
