A Promising Low-Budget Movie
claudio_carvalho25 December 2007
The wolf Mike Mason (Mark Nassar) is the writer of the successful show "Caught to the Act" and nominated for the fourth time to the Emmy Award in the category TV Personality. Mike is having an affair with his next door teenager neighbor Sue Thompson (Tarissa Day), promising to introduce her to the show business while his alcoholic wife Liz Mason (Karen Cellini) is interned in a rehab clinic under the care of Dr. Julie Campbell. Mike and Liz go to New York for the Emmy Award ceremony, and when they return, they find that someone break in their house. They are haunted apparently by Carol Mitchell, a teenager the Mike ran over three years ago while retuning drunken from the Emmy Award and died on the road without assistance or medical care. When Mike is deadly shot by Carol, Liz has a breakdown followed by a heart attack. On the next morning, Liz is dying in the hospital and Mike is cleaning evidences of the last night with Julie. When Sue feels that was used and promises to call the tabloids, begins Mike's journey to hell.

"Seriously Twisted" is a promising low-budget movie with a complex story that could be simpler to give more credibility to the plot. But the screenplay is interesting and entertaining; the cinematography is good; the music score recalls the style of John Carpernter and the direction is great for an independent film. The acting of Tarissa Day and the unknown actress that performs Dr. Julie Campbell are effective, but Mark Nassar and Karen Cellini could be lesser histrionic. I like this type of intelligent film that proves that for a good movie it is not necessary a huge budget. My vote is six.

Julie Campbell actress

As per the credits, Elizabeth Aspenlieder plays the part of Dr. Julie Campbell. Other cast members could be added as well, but the Julie Campbell character is certainly key to the story. As a user I cannot add directly to the information page and a comment (such as this) must have a minimum of 10 lines of text. I agree with the previous comment. I had the opportunity to watch the movie on the internet, via Netflix, in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep and it certainly filled my movie-watching needs. Filler continues. I like plot twists and there are quite a few in this movie. I thought the over-acting was distracting. And I thought the very last scene left unnecessary mystery - but some folks like that.
