The two female characters are key to this episode

Warning: Spoilers
Arthur decides he wants to dive into the London west end and make a quick profit from tourists who want a good time on the town .

He gets a quick lesson on the scam from another business man ( Ian McNeice). Then two women get involved with Ray (Natasha McEnroe and Samantha Janus) . Ray for some reason is very attracted to McEnroe and only considers Janus a good friend when probably it should be the other way round . How Ray feels about them is probably the central theme of the episode.

Eventually McEnroe gets sussed out as the dodgy character she is and Janus sings her delights to Ray and everything ends up just fine .

Ray gets a long way from Willesden
"What was that they called me?" "Cheapskate" "Nuh, no. The other word." "Con man." "No. It was a longer one." "Charlatan." "That's the one."

Arthur Daley has rented a booth at a trade show. First he steals an idea to go into entetainment packages for foreign businessmen. He also gets an idea to stuff his booth with Madame Tussaud leftovers and sorta sells it as a Taste of England. The punters eat it up. Natasha McElhone is in charge of the trade show. She figures prominently.

Meanwhile, Ray Daley is dating a singer who records do-wop records by day, sings torch songs in a jazz club by night. She also figures prominently.

George Cole is on fire in this episode. The writers give him so many funny lines you'll need to watch the episode twice to catch them all.

Ian McNeice also guests in this episode as the guy who is losing business to Daley. Marc Zuber plays a businessman from India who surprises Arthur with his knowledge of history.

As much as the Terry McCann era of Minder is my favorite TV show of all time, I am really enjoying the Ray Daley era. He's an appealing character, his chemistry with George Cole is great, and the production values of the show are top notch.
