The film contains real drama
deickemeyer3 January 2020
Another echo from the struggle of '61 is found in this one-reel drama, credited to Elizabeth R. Carpenter. The lady has not unearthed any original material. The Union officer and the Southern girl are united at the finish, as usual. The film contains real drama, however, founded upon a theme which will always interest the American people. Edgar Jones, who produced the picture, makes a manly Lieut. Gladstone, Justina Huff and Arthur Matthews are excellent. - The Moving Picture World, May 22, 1915
