Fun as expected
Rrrobert21 October 2019
Phyllis convinces Ted to run for city council, with expected results.

A standard funny episode with everyone doing their usual thing.

Gordy and Georgette both have some nice moments.

Baxter Hits the Campaign Trail
Hitchcoc14 February 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Phyllis is a member of the League of Women Voters. Her political aspirations get her involved in a City Council race where she asks Ted to run. It is obvious that he has charisma with no intelligence when it comes to politics. When he says stupid things, people think he is being deliberately funny. He soon finds out that if he is running, he must leave his job as anchorman. He chooses to run. Lou is thrilled and gives the job to Gordy. But Lou promises if Ted wins he can have his old job back. Just when Phyllis has Ted in the White House, thing go badly. Mary and the gang do their best to support Ted, but in the end, it is not to be. A good episode, but at times, Ted acts like most politicians: Kissing hands and shaking babies.

Silly episode
nbrice183 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
No, Phyllis wasn't chair of the League of Women Voters, as anothe reviewer said, it was the Concerned Democrats. The whole episode is silly. Even back in 1973 TV shows were taking jabs at Republicans; sure make the dim witted Baxter a Republican. Then later Mary says that Ted wasn't even registered to vote.

The whole premise is silly and the episode is a waste of time.
