The killings of several WIN couriers causes an investigation, with Shane Weston assigning Joe 90 to get to the bottom of this conspiracy.
Joe is sent undercover to Tehran on a mission impersonating courier Harry Sloane in order to smoke out the bad guys, with his special glasses providing him the brain waves pattern of Sloane. When Joe changes his destination to Paris first Mac and Sam become suspicious that something has gone wrong. Adding to the suspense is Joe having been fitted out with an exploding courier briefcase, and alarm spreads when Joe next travels to Copenhagen, again unauthorized.
A neat plot twist has dissension among Shane, Sam and Mac accusing each other of treachery, while Joe remains in jeopardy, on the loose in Copenhagen. WIN agents have received a special C-48 order to kill Joe 90 on sight (order issued in Washington) to keep the secret codes Joe is transporting from falling into enemy hands. The assumption is that Joe is a double agent, working for the bad guys.
Plot thickens when Joe visits a Dr. Newman in Copenhagen, offering him the secret codes in his briefcase -can it be that Joe has truly turned against WIN?
Unusual espionage segment has Joe operating under the influence of Harry Sloane's brain patterns, accounting for his unorthodox behavior. So the true traitor is Sloane, not Joe and with plenty of nifty model work the good guys win in the end.
