Jackie Shroff disappointed me.

Warning: Spoilers
This straight to DVD movie released at the time when Indian supermodel Nethra Raghuraman was getting movie offers. Unfortunately her film career was did not continue in the long run. It is not a surprise that she disappeared after starring in this movie. She had great potential in her acting ability, therefore she would have received recognition eventually. While viewing this movie I was scared to imagine what the box office collections would turn out to be if this movie ever released in the theatres. Despite this maybe if the plot contained more engaging events then it would have turned out to be a more interesting experience.

SPOILERS.......... Jackie Shroff is a war veteran who lives on a boat. He comes in to contact with Riya Sen who is a drug addict. He helps her to rehabilitate. Riya becomes close to Jackie. Afterwards disappears. A few months pass and surprisingly Jackie is working as a senior position in a company. He meets Nethra and they get married. Riya resurfaces and is angry when she realises that Jackie is married. As a result of this she begins to wreak havoc in his life and misunderstandings begin in the couples life. ...............

The movie was made in a very mild standard. The lack of any interesting story in the second half made it a near boring experience. Jackie and Nethra's screen presence does leave an impression. Their chemistry on screen and interactions make the movie worthwhile to watch, however due to the lack of them having anything practical to do leaves a dull impact. The second half mainly revolves around Nethra behaving suspicious and paranoid around Jackie's behaviour. Riya Sen is a good looking face. Unfortunately her involvement was restricted to just smoking a joint and behaving in despair. With a running time of 2 hours one would manage to complete the movie without feeling restless. If you are in to Jackie Shroff and you admire the actor, watch. Otherwise it is nothing special.

Warning: Spoilers
I've always liked Jackie Shroff films, he always seemed to pick really good roles. Then, there are ones like this. I had thought he stooped as low as possible when he acted in "Naksha". But this film, made the year before, proves that Naksha was a step-up. Horrible, horrible, not even plausible plot. I love movies, fantasy land is my favorite realm. But this doesn't even go there! From the first shot to the finale, you are dumped in stupid land, where Jai, the returning war veteran going thru post traumatic difficulties, moves onto a boat with an old veteran friend. He then befriends a psycho female junkie, who commits a murder. Fast forward six months (not even realistic) and he is married, financially lucrative, and being lauded in all the papers as a young genius. This publicity unearths all the nut cases he's already met, freaks out his wife and puts him in danger of divorce, jail time, etc. Highly unnecessary scenes that make you beg for blindness. Waiting for the film to get better is just a dream, although the final scene is the only normal, sensible part of the entire movie. Too bad the other 2 hours stunk.
