Great Short!

I was fortunate to get a glimpse at this short before it was finished, and what i saw blew me away. The amateur film, made by only 3 people, incorporates professional quality sound, and special effects. It also makes use of very slick trick cinematography that makes it appear as if there are hundreds of extras~.

Hollywood needs more innovative film makers like David Purchase, and the special effects incorporated by his brother, Ian Purchase are also top notch.

Watch out Spielberg... ILM also might have some competition...

David and Ian Purchase are young stars in the making, I can't wait to see whats next!

Kick-Ass

I've seen the short film and the quality of work is outstanding. With only 3 actors who are also the crew, it is unbelievable that they have made such an epic movie. One of the most amazing scenes is when all the soldiers run up a hill, it looks as if there is hundreds of them, when only there were 3. The cinematography is wicked too. The Purchase brothers are someone to look out for in the future. Anybody who is interested in war movies in the slightest bit should be watching The 5th Rangers right now. Hopefully this movies will be a beginning to their long future in the movie business. I'm looking forward to their next picture. I wish them all good luck in the future. Overall, the 5th Rangers is already a classic.

Awesome!!

The power of this film comes from a very simple story of values and how, given circumstances, a person can change.

The cinematography is astounding, with numerous shots best described as "epic" in nature. There is a mix of bouncing "Live @ 5" news coverage; fixed position live action; and almost "still-like" imagery.

The film makes use of stark light and dark contrasts in a number of places. The music, while simple, struck me as appropriate throughout.

For some, the language might be a little strong, however one can only imagine the truth of the situation depicted in the movie.

For me, the story was outstanding, the acting real and credible, and, I think the most telling characteristic, I was able to lose myself in the movie.

Props to the Purchase Brothers! A new generation of Coens and Farrellys is in the making.

You have a devotee in me now, one that cannot wait until your next effort.

More! More!
