No the REAL Paul Anka
ISmellSnow14 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Lorelai describes her dream to Rory about Paul Anka, the dog and the human.

Rory and Logan are having issues due to Rory not being able to forgive. He takes off with The Life and Death Brigade. Rory goes to Philadelphia to Jess' place of work. They talk and get a little cozy with each other. They kiss but Rory tells Jess that she's actually still with Logan. Jess is super upset that she led him on but tells her that she can tell Logan that they hooked up. This is the last we see of Jess until the revival.

Lorelai shows Richard and Emily around Stars Hollow, making up lies about the town to scare them off.

Mrs Kim gives Lorelai her wedding dress in hopes that Lorelai can alter it a little for Lane. It's absolutely horrendous.

Rory turns up

Warning: Spoilers
  • Anka (the human one) couldn't resist working with his canine counterpart on an upcoming episode of Gilmore Girls. "I have a dream that Paul Anka and Paul Anka meet," explains Lauren Graham. "It's very surreal," Especially when he sits on Babette's (Sally Struthers') lap. the real Paul Anka will make a guest appearance in the April 11 episode. He'll apparently be turning up in a dream/fantasy sequence.

After hitting another rough (and possibly permanent) patch with Logan, Rory decides to attend the opening of Jess' new 'zine/bookstore/art gallery in Philadelphia.- Luke is a chaperone during April's school trip to a math contest held in Philadelphia. He must befriend Mr. Munster, a math teacher, and Kelly and Earl, two other chaperones. During the bus drive, he sits with the kids rather than with the adults. Luke is a fish out of water, especially when the kids start singing Tom Lehrer's The Elements (a song about all the chemical elements). He tries to connect with the kids, but mostly, April. At the Inn, Lorelai takes care of the Moores, a couple who will go horseback riding. Logan and Rory are still a couple but things are somewhat tense. In Philadelphia, we see the building where Jess works (downstairs) and lives (upstairs) with some of his co-workers. In the work/shop area, Jess discusses with two co-workers, Matthew and Chris, about the fact they want their own bar. Alicia Mattheson, a woman who works for The Weekly comes in. It seems she may write a piece about a poet who'll perform later. Matthew takes care of her. It is at that moment, that Jess notices one of the customers... Luke. Later, Luke and April attend the poetry reading at Jess' workplace. Rory will somehow make her way to Philadelphia where she will meet up with Jess.

The Gilmore girls ruin another great episode.

Warning: Spoilers
This family is very annoying and dysfunctional. But they are at they worst when they fight. So I'm glad that's out of the way. Only I see more cringeworthy drama coming. Lorelai's passive aggressive attitude towards Luke, and Rory's dependency to Logan. Will clearly lead to more complications. Why did they had to bring back Jess, too? Don't get me wrong, the scenes at Philadelphia were cool, and I think this was what his spin-off series should've been about. But Jess is part of the show's past now, just like Dean is. So no need to rehash his failed relationship with Rory, and let him go his merry way. I also don't mind April. I think she's a good addition this season, and I'm glad the episode centered more on hers and Luke's relationship. Than the Gilmore family's melodrama. The Kims are a nice distraction too. And I loved the scene where Lane badgered Lorelai about her mother's ugly wedding dress. She looks more and more like Miss Kim, and it's fun spotting the growing ressemblance. And yeah, the closing scene, with aforementioned ugly wedding dress, was hilarious with « angst in my pants » playing on the back. Lorelai's dream was just...

makes no sense

Warning: Spoilers
Luke's daughter is annoying. I don't even like how she talks. Pointless trip to show. And why Luke insist in knowing her daughter enough to then present her to Lorelei, his fiancee, the one he was in love for the past 5 years at least.. MAKES NO SENSE.

Writers like the nonsensical tension and drama. You got a lot of inspiration in real life, stop inventing ridiculous and unrelatable plots. I say this because one day they are going to make another "one year in life" (With another ridiculous open ending that maybe solved 10 years later anacronically) and they will insist on keeping the same strategies that don't work.

Jess is more

I always enjoi Kirk appearances.
