"Jerry had a concussion." "Oh? How much does it weigh?"

Janet has a date with a guy named David, only to realize that she forgot that she promised to babysit an infant for some friends. She manages to convince Jack & Chrissy to fill in for her, by promising a fancy color TV and a liquor cabinet. However, when Jack & Chrissy get there, they discover the TV is missing (it's out for repairs), and a locked cabinet...and, of course, the baby spends much of the night crying.

It's a toss-up as to who has the worse night, though. Janets' date turns out to be an endurance test, and when she gets back to the kids' apartment, she has a hard time getting rid of the guy.

There's some real hilarity here. John Ritter is at his funniest as A) he makes that priceless groaning sound that he makes when Jack is particularly annoyed or upset, B) he does a deliberately exaggerated, ridiculous reading of a childrens' book, and C) learns from a book that the size of a mans' head says something about their virility, and declares this to be a crock after he measures his own skull.

There's also a hysterical moment when Chrissy phones Helen for advice on how to deal with an infant (Helen worked in a hospital at one time). Helen is in bed, sick with the flu, and because Stanley can only hear her part of the conversation, he is thunderstruck by some of the things she says.

Overall, a fine, solid episode.

Guest starring Archie Hahn ("Phantom of the Paradise"), Lee Bryant ("Airplane!"), Gary Hollis, and character actress Sheila Rogers, in the first of her five appearances on the series.

Eight out of 10.
