"Well, who do you think you are? D.W. Hitchcock?"
Hey_Sweden16 April 2022
Chrissy's current boyfriend is Neil (played by future TV & film director Stuart Gillard ("Paradise")), and Neil is a classic-film buff. To impress him, Chrissy uses a home video camera to shoot home videos of Jack & Janet basically fooling around. Then Jacks' pal Larry (the ever-hilarious Richard Kline) acquires a dirty movie, and he hopes to use the projector Chrissy is renting for a little private screening.

There is some truly riotous material, and some priceless lines. Adding a subplot is the interplay between the Ropers as Helen berates Stanley for keeping adult magazines around their apartment (which he claims he gets for the articles). Most hysterical is when Stanley appears not to know what a Ferrari is!

Incidental, fun bits of business include Jack intruding on Janet taking a bath, and takes his sweet time exiting the bathroom. As usual, some digs are made at Chrissy's expense; she marvels that people in newspaper obituaries always seem to die in alphabetical order. One of the best lines happens when Jack begs off being filmed as he begins going into the bathroom:

Chrissy: "Do something natural!" Jack: "I'm about to. And you're not going to take pictures."

Best of all is the finale, when the whole gang learns what is *really* on the film that Larry acquired.

This is prime 'Three's Company'.

Eight out of 10.
