A new doctor (former nurse) begins residency. She manages to alienate just about everyone her first day. Elliot and Fiscus go off to California for a conference and Fiscus works to ignore every workshop available. Back at the hospital there are two athletes. One is a marginal lineman who is trying to hook on with an NFL team; the other is a ten year old boy who is very good at all sports, but has an arm that is acting strangely. Morrison loses track of Theo again and comes to a kind of understanding.
