The episode starts with Strand being drunk and causing a scene in a high class restaurant. I think the cleavage on his lady companion might have sent him doolally.
Strand's behaviour is concerning. Craven and Haggerty are tasked to investigate Strand, Haggerty would like to see the back of Strand.
However Craven figures that Strand is just trying a little too hard to be noticed.
It seems that Strand is doing his own undercover work with a married secretary Beth Summers in his department to find someone who has been leaking information.
Only to find that the person who he thought might be responsible for the leak is not the one he catches. Instead he reels in two other catches.
It was good to see Paul Eddington letting rip as Strand. It was always likely that it was going to be someone else that would be Strand's catch. The story did get muddled towards the end.
