Episode 50 begins with Billy's rescue from The Sunnies(and Robert Englund's quick exit from the series),followed by a reunion with his family(he tells his mother he communicated with her via telepathy, but when he requested lamb chops, she believes they were cut off).Burt and Saul decide to make their escape from the alien spaceship,if Saul can remember how to operate the beam.Alice, having overheard Jodie's conversation with Mrs.David, packs her bags and heads off to Alaska(Randee Heller makes her final appearance,a regrettable loss).Mary remains exhausted and overwhelmed by the constant attentions of "alien Burt," and confides to her sister her belief that he's not really Burt("I don't mean that he's a different man,I mean that he is another man! It's not Burt at all! Looks like Burt, sounds like Burt, acts like Burt, but I think it isn't Burt!") Benson accepts a position at the Governor's mansion(the Governor being a cousin of Jessica's,one of the Gatlings),and Robert Guillaume moves on to his own series(which lasted for 7 seasons),the single greatest loss for the future of SOAP.

Adiós Benson, you'll be missed.

Mary is convinced that Burt isn't quite Burt, his constant demands on her, and unusual behaviour have her questioning who she's living with. Saul and the real Burt hatch an escape plan, and Benson decides it's time to move on.
I was just going to say, it's a good episode, if not the most remarkable, then comes the big hammer blow, how on Earth is the show going to continue without Benson, his sarcasm and caustic quipping have been one of the show's best elements, sad to think we won't be seeing him again.
Definitely a good few funny moments throughout, Saul and Burt trying to escape, that's a riot, but the best scene is the goodbye moment between Jessica and Benson, it's really quite moving.
Farewell Benson, you've been magical.
8/10.
