Episode 22

Episode 22 begins with Jodie on a dinner date with Carol at a Japanese restaurant, driving the Chef(Fred Iwasaki)to distraction(and Rebecca Balding unable to suppress her laughter throughout the scene). She finally convinces the homosexual Jodie to join her for a weekend at Cape Cod,as friends(although her smile betrays her real motive).Burt finds a new friend on his first day at the nuthouse,Harold Bronfman(Milt Oberman, previously in episode 20),a neurotic who changes hats every ten seconds, who calms Burt's nervousness by telling him he'd be crazy if he weren't(Burt calls him The Mad Hatter).Danny tells Mary the reason why he's marrying a girl he doesn't even love,it's either that or its curtains.Billy runs away from home, embarrassed about a bad report card, until Benson borrows the sheriff's car to find him, arresting a drunk driver while doing it(with The Major exclaiming to everyone within earshot that the town has a black sheriff). In the courtroom,a boorish Mr.Franklin is admonished by the judge, who is tempted to dismiss the case, until Franklin claims to be holding back a surprise witness.

A riot, super funny.

The Campbells are worried sick when Billy disappears, Tinkler doesn't seem to be totally equipped to find him. Jodie goes out to dine with Carol, she's desperate to concert him.

Packed with terrific one liners, this really is a hoot. I can't explain why, but I'm genuinely so excited to learn who the killer is, all money is now definitely pointing towards Chester.

Jodie and Carol's scene at The Japanese restaurant was a scream, the look on the chef's face was priceless. She seems pretty desperate to convert him.

Once again, it's Benson who packs the laughs, he's just outrageously funny, he's awesome throughout, that scene where be upstages the prosecutor, he's magical.

9/10.
