Lionel? Clark? Which is which?
Rcwilkinson1235 December 2007
Warning: Spoilers
The second of three stones that are crucial to the next part of Clark's mission steers the story in this impressive episode.

Lionel asks Lex to visit him in prison, with the intent of using the "water element" stone to transfer bodies with his son. However, the stone calls out to Clark during this moment. As Lex is about to shake hands with Lionel, Clark shoves Lex out of the way, and in return Lionel and Clark switch bodies. In turn, Lionel finds out about Clark's secret, as being in Clark's body. Clark, in Lionel's body, is stuck in prison. While there, Clark has very enlightening conversations with Lionel's cellmate, who knows all about the elements that the three stones represent, and what will happen with the transference that has just occurred. Lionel, free from prison, turns the tables on the main characters, and Lex, Lana, Chloe and the Kent parents are all surprised by the way "Clark" is acting. Only when Clark, in Lionel's body, begins a prison riot that he can escape.

After the bodies have been switched back to original form, Lionel has no recollection of the few days that he was in Clark's body. However, Lionel's failing liver, and possibly his own soul, seems to have been purified by the act of Clark having occupied his body. Also, Lionel's cellmate turns out to be a man on a mission for Virgil Swann's assistant Bridgette Crosby (Margot Kidder), who was sent to get the element stone from the prison.

This is one of the strongest episodes of the season thus far.

Forgiving him again?

Great episode, however why do Lana and Cloe keep forgiving Clark? I'd be so done by now.
