Another One of Kramer's Bright Ideas
Samuel-Shovel20 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
In "The Reverse Peephole" Kramer and Newman reverse the orientation of their peepholes so no one can ambush them from inside their apartments. George buys a massage chair as a house warming gift but takes it for himself after messing up his back with his giant wallet. Elaine throws out a fur coat of Puddy's, only to have to track it down after she discovers it was actually somebody else's. Jerry goes wallet-less but soon starts carrying around a satchel for his girlfriend's items.

This episode is pretty solid from start to finish. There's nothing super iconic or memorable but the intertwining stories all go together we'll and the jokes land. I think the "man purse" phobia is a little dated but beyond that, it's all solid.

More Kramer Lunacy
Hitchcoc2 June 2023
Kramer has the bright idea to turn the security peephole around so no one can ambush you in your apartment. Really? The landlord takes Kramer's explanation, but decides to get rid of Newman who he sees as a troublemaker. The most focused part has to do with a fur coat that Puddy wears in the winter. During a housewarming party, she throws the coat out the window where it gets hung up. Because it was to be a present (and for other reasons) she now must get it back. George takes money for a present, buys a vibrating recliner, and then keeps it for himself. Jerry becomes fixated on the weight and depth of men's wallets. He ends up with a man-purse. We see George's wallet which about ten inches thick and is causing him serious back pain. The episode is as silly as it sounds.

What was this episode about?: The gang want to get a chair for Joe Mayo. They do the chip in.

George has a huge waller and uses the chair for his back

Elaine is a Bword and throws Puddy's jacket out the window for no legit reason.

Kramer reverses his peephole and tries to save Newman from being deported out of the building.

Jerry dates a hot girl and becomes effeminate

The story and the production overview: A weird looking episode that ends up being okay. Only George's Wallet segment is interesting. Jerry'd effeminate bits were funny too...

Overall, an okay episode for a 7.

Highlight: George's Wallet

Laugh meter: 5

What can be learned: Use a backpack instead of an obesse wallet

Verdict: It was okay.

I like the bit where George has a comically large wallet

The wallet
safenoe15 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Jerry Seinfeld was ahead of his time with his observations of wallets in this ninth season episode, The Reverse Peephole, and who would have thought that as cell phones became popular, wallets would pretty much be in the decline, and nowadays how many men carry around wallets init. I liked Seinfeld's reluctance to carry a purse, but we have those very popular round shoulder bags which does the job, and no doubt Jerry would have been proud.

Anyway, Jon Polito guest stars as Silvio. I remember Jon from the acclaimed police drama series, Homicide: Life on the Street, where he played a police detective.
