Junior is no Joe Louis
kevinolzak9 December 2016
"Golden Boy" opens with Fred meeting boxer 'Junior Joe' Louis (Barry Wright), his manager Yerby (Hank Rolike) convincing him that Junior's worth a half million dollar investment. Lamont hits the roof when he finds out, familiar with Yerby's technique for suckers: "anybody that goes door to door selling encyclopedias printed in crayon is deranged!" Fred 'Big Money' Sanford and Grady 'Small Change' Wilson have to get Junior ready for his upcoming four round preliminary bout, and call upon promoter Clancy Fitzgerald (David Doyle) with a proposition that he can refuse, canceling the fight. Junior's stomach is a bottomless pit, eyeing Julio's goat after he finishes breakfast!
