The Prophecy

If the finale of series one introduced King Richard who was less than noble.

The beginning of series two has a young Phil Davis playing Prince John who has come to visit Nottingham on a special mission.

John has brought with him a special prisoner and someone who could be of interest to Marian.

With no Sheriff of Nottingham, it is up to Gisburne to greet Prince John and find out about his capricious behaviour as well as his desire to regularly bathe. Talking about desires, John has bought his own supply of women with him, he still finds someone in the castle for entertainment.

Robin trying to interpret a prophecy from Herne, goes to rescue the prisoner. Gisburne had a spy in the dungeon who befriends Little John while he was under detention. He could be a danger.

Prince John was an interesting character. He could be cruel, kind, funny, reasonable and then just go off on one. Peter de Leon discovers that Prince John certainly believes in blame someone else culture.

A good start to the second series with guest stars George Baker and John Nettles.
