Warning: Spoilers
There are a lot of familiar elements in this episode that has been pulled from previous stories. Even Herne returns.

Ian Ogilvy plays an unsaintly nobleman on the hunt for an old hag called Mad Mab. She is regarded as a witch but as she cannot be found. Her pig Rutterkin is taken instead, a witch's familiar.

Back at Sherwood Forest. Little John tells the Merries that he plans to marry Meg of Wickham. As Robin will not allow other women to stay in Sherwood Forest, it means Little John will be leaving them.

On his departure Little John comes across Mad Mab and decides to help her. He goes back to Sherwood Forest.

Robin comes across the nobleman. It is his uncle, Edgar of Huntingdon.

Edgar plans to betray Robin's father. King John is staying in Nottingham and is in ill health. Edgar convinces the king that the Earl of Huntingdon has used witchcraft to strike him down with an ailment.

It is up to Robin to show King John that Edgar is the true traitor.

The Sheriff of Nottingham is not in this story. He is taking a pilgrimage. King John gets to see Guy's incompetence at first hand.

This includes losing Robin and Nasir in an ambush. The others are caught and are scheduled to be executed along with Robin's father.

This is a daft but enjoyable episode. The Merries throw themselves from a bridge and into the river. It is so shallow that they should had smashed all their bones.

King John seems to have no issues taking Robin's words regarding his uncle's betrayal.

It seems Robin's other uncle is the King of Scotland. I hope he is not called Idi Amin.

It turns out Mad Mab previously had come across wicked Edgar. The experienced did turn her into a witch. She seems to have more special powers than Herne the Hunter.
