Here is a different kind of episode when Lucas is out of town, Mark decides he wants to get a job. So when Lucas returns, Mark advises that he has a job at Nils Swenson Delivery Stable.
Lucas is none to happy when Mark's chores as the house are left undone and he questions Mark about why he needs a job. When he does not get a satisfying reply, he then gets onto Swenson for giving his son a job and wants to know why Mark said he needs a job. Swenson really does not answer but we viewers know something is up about Mark needing to make money.
One day Mark is suppose to ride out and get a horse for shoeing for Swenson. He is told to stay on the main road and not to take the dangerous short-cut. But Mark, wanting to get back quickly, takes the short-cut. And on the way meets a unsavory character that takes his horse. When he does not return to the stable, Lucas sets out looking for him.
A well written and well acted episode. And by the end of the episode we all know why Mark wanted a job and it will be heartwarming. Good Watch!
