Damsel in distress, jailbird and MI5
coltras353 August 2021
Simon Templar sure gets mixed up with girls, whether they be a damsel in distress or a jailbird who has broken out of jail, and consequently he is threatened by a couple of guys ( one of them, Neil McCarthy played Calibos in the Clash of the Titans), trailed by the MI5 - nothing is so simple and there is a neat twist at the end, one that was quite surprising. It's a serviceable episode where you get a good car chase, a fiery finale. It's a bit slow in the beginning, but soon picks up.

The Debt Collectors
Prismark102 December 2022
After Simon Templar rescues Jeri Hanson (Mary Tamm) from a runaway horse. He gets drawn into the world of espionage.

Jeri's sister Christine (Diane Keen) escapes from prison. She was convicted of passing official secrets. She has escaped just as she was about to be paroled.

Sir Charles Medley from the Ministry of Defence aided Christine's escape. The Saint learns that it is all a ploy to flush out a traitor inside the British security services.

Writer George Markstein wrote for Callan and Special Branch. It is well directed by Leslie Norman.

Christine is a hard boiled lag after spending years in prison. Jeri is flagrant and her father's favourite. Many of the government officials act shifty so there are a lot of suspects for Simon Templar to go through.

A dense story, a change of pace but some plot holes which means it does not always make sense. I did like the twist.

Good roles for both Keen and Tamm.
