Decent Rimmer episode
snoozejonc16 December 2020
After making a lone getaway from the 'simulants', Rimmer reshapes an empty planet in his own image.

This is fairly good episode with some good sci-fi concepts and a strong character focus on Rimmer. How much more focus on Rimmer's negative character traits is possible before it gets pretty tiresome though, I'm not sure.

The idea of Rimmerworld and the wormhole were pretty good ones and makes it an interesting adventure to follow. There are plenty of nods to Star Trek with the transporter device and the 'genesis project' similarities of the terraforming equipment.

All performances are as strong as ever, with Chris Barrie playing a Rimmer more self-serving, cowardly and pathetic than ever. Robert Llewelyn provides the majority of the laughs, one in particular towards the end proves to be the episode highlight with excellent timing.

For me, the humour isn't as consistent as the other episodes in series 6, but I say that with appreciation for differing tastes in comedy. Overall I rate it as a 6.5/10, but as always I like to round upwards.
