Jerry tries to experience life without his jacket
vex86bird16 June 2007
One of the magical things about the show is Jerry's jacket. Throughout the show's run Jerry manages to pull anything he can imagine out of it as the situations dictate. So to try and pick up a girl he tries life without his jacket. Parker and Mikey are there to support Jerry through this, but there is a double side to this dagger. Seeing as a large purpose of Jerry's Jacket is towards keeping the gang out of trouble they are at risk as well throughout this experience. That and Lemmer knows the power of Jerry's jacket and there is potential for disaster if he gets his hands on it. Downsides to the episode are probably the cheesiness of Jerry trying to cope without his jacket. On the upside there's a lot of subtle jokes throughout the episode. Classic Parker Lewis!

Jerry and the jacket

Warning: Spoilers
Being a fan of Parker Lewis Can't Lose back in the early 1990s, when it debuted, I've very much enjoyed re-watching and reflecting on one of the finest sitcoms from the 1990s (sorry Friends, Cheers, Frasier, and Union Square). Anyway, in Full Mental Jacket you have Jerry suffering withdrawal symptoms big time when he doesn't have his famous jacket. Interestingly, a few days ago I watched a video of a reunion of some of the cast of the series in Paris, and Troy Slaten, who played Jerry, was asked if he still had the jacket. Troy explained that because it belonged to the production company, they kept it. Jerry's jacket should be donated to the Smithsonian for display alongside the Fonz's jacket.
