Could We Rise to This Challenge to Our Lives?
Hitchcoc20 May 2014
I remember the original. A man realizes that the neighborhood in which he lives is suddenly closed in, a la "Under the Dome." He and his daughter are somewhat estranged. She runs off and he goes to look for her. All the power and water and other services have stopped functioning and panic ensues. The neighbors are seen as selfish and only interested in their own little worlds, refusing to help each other with basic needs (important plot element). One of the neighborhood men is pulled through the wall and experimented upon. He later returns, telling them that the people behind the wall are really benevolent and they just need to go along with their plans. Meanwhile, the daughter encounters an alien who takes her to see the other side. On it are his parents and others who have been enslaved and who are dying of a terrible disease. It turns out that the aliens are interested in enslaving the earth population. What happens later is what the episode is ultimately about.

THE RETURN OF A CLASSIC
asalerno105 June 2022
I remember this episode having seen it as a child. An alien civilization is the victim of a deadly virus that has established itself in the environment of their planet. They then move an entire neighborhood of the United States to their world in order to check if this virus affects humans in the same way and if not, come and settle on Earth. This remake is very well done, the effects are obviously very good as well as the appearance of the aliens, the characters differ a bit from the originals and have been modernized. In general, it is a good remake but despite everything the original still maintains a charm and a terrifying atmosphere that cannot be overcome even though current technology is much better.

Warning: Spoilers
So if the barrier was created by the evil lot then how come the dying alien from an entirely different race crossed the barrier to our world instead of being transported to the testing room where the evil aliens wherre?? Also i think the evil aliens should keep tight lid on their plans instead of telling the humans everything about what they are doing, because well you are going to kill yourself if you tell them they are going to take the population on earth and reduce them slaves. Who would want to accept that offer lmao! Also i think the reason for the disease was so theres a more comfortable way of killing yourselfs and causing minimal pain as possible so maybe that was the reason for the barrier defect.
