George Is Peachy
Hitchcoc2 April 2023
This episode centers on Stephanie's pure irrationality. Her actions and the explanation to the counselor are the definition of shopoholic. Like all compulsions, there are people who can't control their spending, especially on those TV networks. Steph has decided to put more distance between her and Michael by having George take all the clothes she bought to wear for him and burn them at the city dump. Joanna will have none of this. She goes shopping every day, taking George along. At one point she buys him a peach colored jump suit. The ongoing thing is all the people in town who seem to be wearing clothes like she used to have, getting them for a song at the Goodwell. Mildly funny episode.

Stephanie shops more than usual

Stephanie goes on a wild shopping spree while Michael is released from the sanitarium.

Just an OK episode, not a lot of big laughs. Stephanie wants all her old clothes burned since they remind her of Michael, but George gives them to Good Will instead. A few amusing moments when she sees other people wearing her old stuff. Melanie Chartoff returns as the analyst Dr Kaiser, she stops treating Michael because she becomes attracted to him.

VERY Funny Episode
fentress26 January 2024
I have to respectfully disagree with some other reviewers here. This is not just a mildly funny episode. I found it hilarious! The scene where Stephanie and Dr. Kaiser confront each other is an absolute scream. Stephanie's lines in that scene constitute one of her best acting riffs in the whole series. It was quite a performance on Julia Duffy's part. And watching the usually calm Dr. Kaiser melt down was great.

It was very clever that there were not one but two plays on words of erotic-neurotic-erratic. And I liked the recurring gag of everyone having bought a cheap clothing item at Goodwill and how clueless Stephanie was!
