It's not only gay men who know who Carol Channing's understudy in "Dolly" was.

Warning: Spoilers
After recurring on "Murphy Brown" as an airheaded reporter, Chris Rich struck gold with his guest appearance on "The Nanny" as an actor turned male nanny whom Fran assumes is gay. This sets up the very metrosexual Rich and Fran to become involved in some very precarious predicaments when she finds out the truth. Meanwhile, Gracie overhears Fran talking about "All My Children" and for some reason assumes she's pregnant!
The hunky Chris Rich (who turned many a head as Sandy Cory on "Another World") is loveable but narcissistic here, obsessed with mirrors in keeping his hair absolutely perfect, yet speaks in a way that would make anyone question his sexuality. The bedroom scene with Maxwell and Fran leads to a hysterical reaction from Niles. However, the misunderstanding between Gracie and Rich's charge, Willie, is rather awkward considering their ages. The minor plot of a celebrity baseball game has funny but bizarre references to Nell Carter and Katharine Hepburn, but Benjamin Salisbury's imitation of Kate is priceless.
