This is a throwback to some classic political history as fictional news anchor takes on a real life president, in this case, George H. W. Bush. Real news conference footage has Bush rolling his eyes every time Murphy jumps up at a press conference demanding to be given the opportunity to ask a question. She has been going through a horrible case of laryngitis over a 48-hour period after an Aretha Franklin concert and now sounds like Phil on a good day. Too bad Phil isn't in this episode. It would have been very funny for him to accuse her of mocking him. Murphy has to deal with the big boys club and the difficulty that women had in being heard at these press conferences, the one woman there insulting her for her big hair. There's also a very funny secretary, a rather fey British man who is into being disciplined. But it's non-actor Bush who steals the episode thanks to good editing, and a good Bush imitator who gets a great final line in the episode. Murphy, naying like a goat as the episode ends, for once is at a loss for words.
