Clark Kent and Superman?

How can a man be in two places at the same time?

This is a wonderfully clever mystery, one which is well crafted, well reasoned, and very well acted.

As someone who has a little bit of a phobia about time passing by, this one has an extra relevance, I can very much relate to Norman's fear of the passage of time, though not quite as bad.

The side story of Jonathan and his encounter is very funny, as are Maddy's attempts to make him jealous. I also found the scene of Maddy going through Norman's laundry very funny.

Very clever, funny and encourages you to use the grey matter, 8/10.

Time Waits for Norman

Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed the hour long series of Jonathan Creek as they were tightly written, leaving you with a nice balance of mystery and humour.

Norman Stangerson is supposedly working in New York. When he arrives home he sees a man returning his wallet that he dropped in a branch of Wimpy. Norman wonders how the wallet got there and surprised this person saw him there, he even states that Norman dropped hot coffee on his own foot.

Norman's wife Antonia who rings the New York office and gets confirmation that her husband was there, is confused. She tells Maddie about this and she and Jonathan investigate. How can a man be in two places at once?

A deft mystery, the answer was rather simple at the end but it weaved nicely. Underlying it all is the 'will they-won't they relationship' between Maddie and Jonathan, not helped that Jonathan sleeps with his book-keeper who is smitten by him and it turns out that she is bald.

Not a classic by any means

Enjoyable enough, and the subplot of Jonathan bedding his accountant was funny, but my main problem with this episode is that it was obvious way too early that there had to be somebody in New York masquerading as Norman Stangerson.

Warning: Spoilers
Johnathan gets more than he bargained for while balancing his books with his accountant, indeed it could be said that he had a hair raising experience.

Maddy is employed to make sense of a conundrum of a businessman accused of being in two places at once. She was consulted for her supposed acumen in working out such matters, but she instantly phoned Johnathan for his help.

The question has to be asked of Maddy to what extent she seeks out stories to investigate, simply to get Johnathan involved so that she can spend more time with him.

Maddy continues to act as if she suffers from some form of dementia to the eternal questions of love and friendship, her attitude towards Johnathan borders on the schizophrenic.
