A trained observer
bkoganbing31 December 2020
An elderly woman is killed at a nursing home in Sparta has the police in Sparta what they thought would be a pro forma investigation. With none other than the infamous Nurse Ratched Louise Fletcher in charge of the home you pretty much do it on spec,

But a retired cop played by Ken Curtis is also a resident of the home and he may e old and cranky, but Curtis has lost none of his powers of observation.

Good performances by guests Louise Fletcher, Ken Curtis and Andrew Prine in this episode.

Warning: Spoilers
So great to see Ken Curtis pop up on In The Heat of the Night. He does his masterful "hick" character. Different from the others, but still related! As previously stated, Curtis character turns out to provide vital info on the death of the old lady. He always seems to observe little side events that turn out to be critical! Anything with Curtis is a fun watch!

Louise Fletcher does a great job in her role. Tough and no nonsense!

Carroll O'Connor provides Gillespie with his down to earth, common sense approach. His touches of humor are usually a bit biting. He does get his point across!

Great episode!
