Goldblume (a fine Joe Spano) goes after the creep (a perfectly hateful Jere Burns) who raped his ex-wife. One of Hunter's SWAT team members catches flack for shouting an obscenity after shooting a man. Calletano (nice work from Rene Enriquez) works undercover at a motel.
It's startling to see the usually gentle Goldblume go on the warpath. Moreover, it's a hoot to see Belker (essayed with growly gusto by Bruce Weitz) working the front desk at a seedy motel. Hunter (sturdy James B. Sikking) gets a strong moment in which he attempts to advise rookie Foster (well played by Robert Prescott) not to let the error he made in the field defeat him. Michael Tucker and Jill Eikenberry are once again hilarious as a hapless tourist couple while Tim Thomerson positively oozes as slimy motel owner Rikers. Lastly, this episode makes a pertinent point about how one has to live with the consequences of one's actions, with Joyce (a terrific Veronica Hamel) trying and failing to prevent one of her clients from being executed.
