Furillo (a terrific Daniel J. Travanti) tries to convince Martinez (sharply played by Trinidad Silva) to help him bust a corrupt judge suspected of accepting payoffs. Belker (a fine Bruce Weitz) works undercover running a lunch wagon. Bates (sturdy Betty Thomas) gets paired with new partner McBride (an excellent Lindsay Crouse). Hunter (a hysterically pompous James Sikking) deals with a rival for Prunella (the delightful Elizabeth Huddle Nyberg) in the unlikely form of Jaggawala (an amusing turn by Manu Topou). Buntz (the fantastic Dennis Frantz) tries to help his wayward ex-partner Donahue (a solid performance by David Crowley) go straight.
It's a hoot to see Hunter dealing with the unexpected intrusion of Jaggawala. Buntz has a good confrontation with the smitten Dolan (sweet Joan Sweeny) and winds up going on a date with her. Moreover, new intercom issues complicate the legality of the Martinez bust, plus it's sad to see poor Martinez get played and wind up with his back against the wall.
