When a business acquaintance tells Harry a pampered secretary is an efficient secretary, he tries out this strategy on Lucy, but she thinks he's trying to get rid of her.
Mary Jane appears in the opening scene giving Lucy a manicure and it's quite comical the way she quickly bolts and runs out when Harry yells at her. We never saw him be so harsh with her before, either here or on THE LUCY SHOW. Later, she re-enters the scene and Harry overhears her call him an "old grouch", so she really gets his ire in this one.
Lucy is tasked with hiring another secretary and the efficient applicant is played by Ms. Ball's personal real-life secretary Wanda Clark.
The high rating for this one is because of the last act where Kim masquerades as the dippy "Shirley Shopenaur". The characterization is like a late Sixties prototype for Fran Drescher on THE NANNY. It's over-the-top but hilarious, especially when she answers the phone "Carter's Eunuch Employment Agency".
One of the best of the season thanks to Lucie Arnaz' performance.
