Germ warfare plot

Warning: Spoilers
THE TERRORS OF THE EARTH is a modern-feeling HANNAY episode which sees our hero tackling the terrors of germ warfare in a pre-WW1 world. Gavin Richards returns to the show and it's nice to see his presentation in a very different light for a change. Alex Kingston also shows up; I never realised she'd been acting for so long. The story is well-paced and full of the usual twists, so there's little to dislike here.

The Terrors of the Earth

Dr Nils Larssen a famous Swedish research scientist has been employed by the British government to urgently make large scale antidotes in case there is germ warfare.

When Dr Larssen disappears, his daughter Kirsten Larssen seeks out Hanney.

It seems Dr Larssen has been deliberately infected. They need to stop some German sympathisers who have developed a lethal batch to poison the water supply.

Otto von Schwabing a German involved in dastardly espionage is shocked with germ warfare. A man who routinely engages in murder, abduction and assassination attempts draw the line when it comes to mass murder of civilians.

There is a rather laughable part when Hanny throws a box carrying a virus into the water. He then discovers that he did what the villain wanted him to do. It all gives the impression that Hannay just blunders in.
