A pretty good story.

Mark Richard is set to become Ambassador to an African nation, but his future is in jeopardy when his wife Marcia hits and kills a cyclist, Tim Collier is on hand to offer his assistance.

I think it's a pretty decent episode, it's perhaps fair to say it's a well recycled plot, but what it perhaps lacks in terms of originality, it more than makes up for in delivery. It really does rely on Collier's cleverness, and ability to take a risk.

It's very nicely filmed, even if this is the first time the series has felt studio bound, it has a degree of authenticity, which the black and white filming allows, even the backdrop of The Alps looks pretty decent.

Simone Lovell is definitely the star of the show, excellent I thought, Patrick Barr and Charles Gray were both faultless, that voice of Gray's is simply unmistakable, quite marvellous.

Watch out for Frank Thornton once again playing a minor role, amazing how hard be worked in his younger years. Also look out for a young Jane Asher, would played Pierre's grieving granddaughter.

Solid, 7/10.

Warning: Spoilers
Marcia Richmond (Simone Lovell) needs the help of Tim Collier. She is the wife of Mark Richmond, soon to the the US Ambassador to an African nation.

Tasked to bring democracy and good governance. He is a busy man, too busy to notice that his wife has got a big problem.

While on a skiing trip in the French Alps. The skiing instructor got a bit too frisky as they drove home. The car hit a passing cyclist and died. That is what the instructor tells her. Promising it to cover up the death, he tells Marcia to drive to Paris, even though she wanted to report the accident.

Later she gets blackmail demands. Collier suspects that the alleged accident was a set up, maybe to discredit her husband. When they return to the Alps, an old man did indeed was run over near the accident spot.

With Charles Gray as Paul Lederer, a special adviser to Mark Richmond. It is hard not to figure who could be behind this dastardly scheme. It is also a recycling of a previous story. There is always a treacherous assistant.
