Puppy love

In looking for ways for her students to improve their grades, Sister Bertrille talks Carlos into awarding a prize to the boy and girl with the highest marks. The respective winners are Joel Bascomb (Craig Huxley) and Bridgett Faulkner (Cindy Cassell). They feel Carlos is being forced into it and reluctantly accept having dinner with him and Sister Bertrille. Bridgett feels she is unattractive and puts herself down in every regard. While she's dancing with Carlos, the Irish girl begins to feel more at ease. Joel becomes sick and Sister Bertrille takes him back to the convent. He becomes dejected to see Bridgett mesmerized by Carlos. She is hurt to see Carlos with another girl. Joel tells Sister Bertrille how much he likes Bridgett and encourages him to talk with her.
