  Mephistopheles the Devil : [ominously]  I am not the one facing destruction here! Your time is almost up!

  [chimes ring in the distance] 

  Mephistopheles the Devil : Midnight... nothing you have said compells me to release your client... OR YOU. You are FINALLY beaten!

  Mr. Roarke : [smiles]  We both know the rules. You must take exactly what you are entitled to. Exactly... not one soul more nor less. Or you relinquish your claim to all of us.

  Mephistopheles the Devil : [triumphant]  I claim all three souls!

  Mr. Roarke : [holding up three fingers]  Three... I don't see how you can manage that.

  [he raises his little finger] 

  Mr. Roarke : There are FOUR souls here.

  Mephistopheles the Devil : Four?

  Mr. Roarke : [folds two of his raised fingers down]  How will you take Mrs. Breem... without harming the child?

  Mephistopheles the Devil : [stunned]  What... child?

  Mr. Roarke : [sarcastically]  Oh I'm so sorry... you did know that Mrs. Breem was pregnant? Did you not? You are forbidden to touch the unborn child... so, if you cannot take all... you take NOTHING.

  Mephistopheles the Devil : [screams as he turns his back to Roarke]  DAMN YOU ROARKE!

• Mr. Roarke : [after Roarke has beaten the devil]  I warn you, Mephistopheles, no reprisals! The Breems are free of you forever.

  Mephistopheles the Devil : You hurt my feelings, my dear Roarke. I know the rules. Even my worst detractors must admit that the devil is a damn good sport.

  [fading into the darkness] 

  Mephistopheles the Devil : Thanks for the game, Roarke. We will play it again... we have all eternity before us. And... sooner or later, I'm bound to win!

• Mr. Roarke : You are about to lose your immortal soul.

  Philip Breem : [Mandy lowers her eyes in shame]  What are you saying?

  Mr. Roarke : [sternly]  You should have told me you were involved with the Prince of Darkness, Mrs. Breem.

  Philip Breem : [scoffs at Mr. Roarke]  Are you crazy?

  Mandy Breem : Mr. Roarke is right, Philip. I entered into a pact with Satan... and payment is due.

  Mr. Roarke : What exactly did Satan give you, Mrs. Breem, in return for your soul.

  Mandy Breem : I think you already know that, don't you?

  Mr. Roarke : [nods]  I know.
