Dr. Barth is NOT the typical victim.

Dr. Barth (Richard Kiley) is a famous surgeon and he's in need of a vacation. So he does something, which in hindsight, is pretty dumb. He heads to the Cascades in Washington State for some time hiking in the wilderness. In other words, no one knows exactly where he is nor how to get a hold of him....that is, not one OTHER than some kidnappers!

After he is taken prisoner by the three thugs, Dr. Barth tries to escape...and damages one of the men's leg when he tried to get away. But Barth isn't so lucky...and takes a long, long tumble down a mountain! Amazingly, he isn't killed and is able to hobble away. One of the kidnappers, an expert tracker, spends the rest of the show following Barth while the other two head back to Barth's home town in Utah. One is needed to pick up the ransom money....the injured one, is back to rest up. Can the FBI capture these three jerks? And, what about the tracker...can Barth manage to evade him?

This is a pretty exciting episode with nice location shooting. I am pretty sure it was made in the Southern California mountains...there are plenty of them, though IMDB doesn't indicate the location. The only thing I found a tiny bit hard to believe, and this is NOT an error, is Barth's reaction to his tracker at the very end...it was surprising! Well made and well worth your time.
