I like that this episode about Charlene becoming a seller of Lady June cleaning products basically shows how cult like certain businesses like this can become with their constant philosophies, eternal smiles and flowery titles. It's not one of my favorite episodes but there are some very funny moments concerning the reactions to the ridiculousness of the "smilin' chirpin' bulldozers* as Julia describes them.
While Mary Jo describes the women at the convention as something out of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers", they are closer to"Stepford Saleswomen". A funny twist has them meeting a man who sued Lady June on a legal precedent for discrimination and has ended up becoming just as smiling and phony as the rest of them. Pretty much everybody gets an award at the convention, an ironic look into the future. The scene with the real Lady June is a nice ending to an episodic that may not be among my favorites, but I wouldn't keep it at the back of my cleaning supply cabinet.
