A lesson in bragging and exaggeration.
Sleepin_Dragon18 April 2024
John lands himself in trouble when his constant bragging and exaggeration about his single life comes to bare. His colleague and friend joins the 1-2-1 club in the hope of meeting women, perhaps one with a sunken bath.

It was almost a given that this episode would happen, a plotline you'd have expected, I just assumed Ken's character would have been played by Michael Cochrane from episode one.

So much to chew over, first off we have the hilarious, but not too effective DJ Ralph, all I can say, is I instantly downloaded Green Door after this, it rocks.

We also see a little chink of light from Kirk, maybe he's lot in love with Kate, or lusting after her, but perhaps there's a bit of brotherly care.

Were there any sexual problems continues to make me laugh out loud, the same way as Allo Allo's 'listen very carefully ....'

8/10.

The Fourteen Year Itch

An episode you know that was coming. John has been exaggerating about his exploits as a newly divorced man to his friend Ken.

The ladies he has picked up at the 1-2-1 club. Now Ken wants a piece of the action.

So despite having five kids and being married for fourteen years.

Ken pretends to be divorced because he could not have children. He quickly finds a soulmate in Kate.

John tries to tell Kate the truth about Ken but does confide in Kirk.

Meanwhile Ralph tries to be a disc jockey at the local disco. He only has one song, The Green Door.

Another amusing episode. John is of course jealous as Ken homes in on Kate. Ralph is an unhip DJ.

Kirk shows his caring side only because he has a shine for Kate as well.

Look out for Sue Holderness who plays Ken's wife who is not amused by his shenanigans.

Wonderful stuff

Warning: Spoilers
A colleague of John's gate-crashes the 1-2-1 club under false pretences, causing Kate a bit of heartache, in another stellar episode of this show that deserves more attention.

It's a chance to flesh out the character of Kate a bit more, and Belinda Lang plays it beautifully.

With a guest appearance from Sue Holderness (who played 'Marlene' in John Sullivan's other hits 'Only Fools' and its spin-off 'The Green Green Grass', and a confession from Kirk, this is wonderful stuff.
